Biomecanics makes this First Steps sandal in Spain, using the Natural Growing approach developed with the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia — footwear shaped around how a child’s foot actually grows rather than a scaled-down adult last.
The closed toe is the point of this model. Toddlers at this stage catch their toes on kerbs, table legs and playground edges, and an open sandal offers nothing there.
